Women at TITANA are empowered to make their own decisions and express their own opinions. We make sure that our artisans honor their own prices and encourage them to maintain their personal design aesthetic in our belts. The artisans work from home and make their own hours, thus allowing them to provide for their families while generating an additional income. Our primary goal is to raise their standard of living and teach them the importance of budgeting so they can be able to provide for their families.
Each TITANA item is handcrafted by indigenous weavers and we use high-quality, sustainable materials. Our textiles are 100% cotton with naturally dyed threads. Naturally colored yarns that we use do not contain aromatic amines - AZO. By optimizing thread usage in each belt, we generate little waste, which we can later reuse. As it is a Guatemalan raw material and we do not use industrial processes, its environmental footprint is minimal.
Currently, we have a community of women weavers in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. There are twelve artisans who produce 120 belts a month. In an effort to increase our production capacity, we have reached out to other artisan communities.
